Overall, automation of meanless tasks is very important to the industry.. But getting there is going to be very hard. I think Ethen of Grind Hard Pluming is one of the YouTube channels getting there quicker than the other in how they let a CNC plasma cutter do all their metal cutting and then prep those parts for welding together. It really works well for keeping them on course with their tight schedule, and the learning curve on that has not been too difficult.

I also like to how many channels including you are adopting 3d printing to prototype parts out and want to seem some kind of next step where those parts are made out of metal and then can be used to finish a project..

I have to say though.. That sanding robot arm on the other hand… as impressive as it is.. Still feels like it’s a long way off from actually being useful for car repair and fabrication… I guess it does let you program a surface into the machine and lets you walk away while it stand the one surface… but even the hood of that truck had something like 10 surfaces on it would have to do.. And those surfaces have to react to each other.. Programming this thing to let you walk away from prepping it looks daunting. I’m not sure if that will save you from the suffering that is sanding… But that said.. If there is anything that if you could automate it… parts sanding would be the most amazing thing, since it’s most of the labor of car fabrication and repair.

In the future machines will replace humans in tasks we wouldn’t imagine possible today. It has been so as long as machines have been around. Robots are , and have been, taking out jobs.
